I purchased the game for my wife. We had played it on demo disc i had received. she loved it and had me rushed to get it. we play alot just the two of us but also we mainly love playing when friends and family come over to hang out.
This game is a lot of fun, but shame on them for selling a game like this and neglecting to put out an adequate amount of DLC. They released one question pack. It was fun, but after a while the questions start repeating themselves. If they released new questions once in a while, I would play this game all the time. Since they promised DLC on the first game without delivering and only released one question pack for this one, I wouldn’t recommend buying this game. If you want an awesome game that will only give you a month or two of enjoyment and leave you with some neat useless buzzers, then this is the game for you. If not, wait for a better trivia game to come out with more questions to download. I’m so disappointed with this that I refuse to buy anything else from “Scene it?”
My wife and I enjoyed both this game and the first one immensely. It is a great party game when having friends over. We prefer the announcer from the first game (I believe that is Fred Willard), but gameplay-wise Box Office Smash is a vast improvement over the first one. It is worth it to get both of these.
I haven’t purchased this game or the original yet…I’m actually trying to decide which one to pick up. I downloaded both demos from Xbox Live. I like the updated content of this version versus the original. I also like the online multiplayer options and downloadable content. What I’m not a fan of is the interface and screen fonts. The new version almost requires a larger HD TV to be able to read the text.
In the demo, I preferred the virtual movie studio that was in the original ‘Sceneit?’ to the newer version’s virtual movie theater with the characters.
My recommendation is to get this if you need the updated version or want online play as long as you have a large, high def screen. If you’re new to the game and just want it for parties, the original game might be a better fit and it can be had for less cash up front. You can download both from Xbox Live and see which one you like best.
This one is much better than the first one. Its very fun to get your family together to play this game. There are a few puzzles that are kind of boring, like word scrambles. Besides that this game is very fun for the price!
